Position Summary

The Administrative Support Coordinator II, under the general supervision of the Medical Director, performs a variety of comprehensive administrative and clerical duties in support of student health center operations. They follow standard policies and procedures in performing these high-level tasks. Work assignments may involve other related activities within the scope of this classification and may be focused in one or more areas within Student Health Services. The Administrative Support Coordinator performs work assignments that typically support the full range of clerical and administrative functions within the student health center including support of clinical leadership, coordination of staffing schedules and timekeeping, overseeing various processes essential to administrative operations, appointment scheduling for practitioners, patient reception, and management of highly sensitive patient phone calls.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2025 with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Department Summary

Student Health Services offers primary medical care and health promotion to students of San Diego State University through a wide range of programs and services. Care is provided by board certified physicians, certified nurse practitioners and other medical staff including nurses, clinical laboratory scientists, x-ray technologists, medical assistants, and pharmacists. In addition to the basic medical care, Student Health Services offers health education, orthopedics, osteopathic manipulative treatment and psychiatry.
