Work Schedule
This position is primarily assigned to the Chester campus and serves as a floater at the Midlothian campus as necessary. The work scheduled will include week-day hours. Incumbent will work up to 29 hours per week.

Job Description

Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. It serves students and the community at its two campuses, in Chester and Midlothian; online; and in locations throughout its service area. Brightpoint Community College’s mission is to provide quality educational opportunities that inspire student success and community vitality. It envisions a success story for every student.

Brightpoint Community College invites applications from highly motivated individuals to work in the Dean of Students office and assist with daily operations of the department with specific emphasis on student support programs. Incumbent’s primary responsibilities include: Assisting faculty, staff, and students with student concerns that fall under the purview of the Dean of Students office. Maintaining and updating on-campus and off-campus resource database and printed materials. Managing spreadsheets and reporting forms to collect data on student support services. Provides timely response to phone/email communication within the Dean of Students office. Maintains and updates resource literature in the Dean of Students office and food pantry. Maintains campus food pantries by inventorying, inputting orders, picking up orders, and restocking pantries as needed on both campuses. with event set-up and preparation as needed. Other assigned duties as they relate to the Dean of Students office

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA’s/Required Qualifications
Must be able to work independently on a variety of assignments. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to include both oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in grammar skills with the ability to draft, compose, and proofread correspondences and emails. Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and work well under pressure. Must possess the ability to provide service to a diverse population of customers. Must possess ability to maintain confidentiality while working with highly sensitive information. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must have a clean driving record. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required.
