Purpose of Position/Summary of Work:
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). NOTE: If you are a current NC State Government employee, you will be considered for a temporary assignment. However, Temporary Solutions cannot accommodate dual employment.
This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC – Wake County.
Telework Availability:
We trust our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles; NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers work from home options and variable work schedule flexibility for this position.
The Division of Health Benefits (DHB) requires temporary workers with an approved hybrid telework schedule to work onsite at their assigned duty station at least 4 working days per month. More information on this arrangement may be obtained at the time of the interview.
Hourly Rate: $19.00 to $25.00
(Hourly Rates are based on education, experience, equity, and budget)
Position Overview:
The Administrative Specialist provides administrative support for the Provider Reimbursement team. The support provided by this position is essential for continuing to meet DHB management and industry’s expectations of Provider Reimbursement for timely and accurate facility rate analysis.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Coordinate and track time sensitive requests
Develop and maintain tracking spreadsheets
Receive and respond to calls and correspondence from the public, providers, beneficiaries, state agencies, and other stakeholders
Assist with researching issues and finding resolutions to written requests, and creating timely and accurate responses
Assist with Help Center ticket follow up
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear error free letters and other communications
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products specifically Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proven ability to research and analyze problems, and recommend solutions
Demonstrated skills providing timely and courteous customer service in an office environment
Experience generating reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Management Preferences:
Previous working experience with NC Medicaid or other Health Care
Experience with NC DHHS Data Warehouse, NCTRACKS, and/or NCFAST
Demonstrated experience using SharePoint, especially managing content
