Job Description:

We are seeking a General Clerk III to provide on-site technical administrative support. The selected candidate will play a vital role in assisting with planning, mitigation, response, and recovery to all hazards and emergencies. This position involves administrative support to various emergency programs, including pandemic response, hurricanes, destructive weather, and emergency communications, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in long-range all-hazard emergency planning, including forecasting future needs and updating plans accordingly.

Coordinate scheduling of events impacting multiple divisions, departments, and organizations.

Track and manage inventory of emergency response and disaster preparedness equipment.

Maintain and monitor training completion for organizational members related to emergency response teams.

Assist with reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting directives and documents from higher authority.

Contribute to the creation and updating of policies, procedures, and directives.

Develop comprehensive training courses using Microsoft Office software and other media as required.

Set up rooms for training events and briefings, ensuring IT systems are functional and materials are available.

Issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other required equipment to personnel, tracking issued equipment and ensuring its return.

Schedule drill debriefs, after-action reviews, and lessons learned meetings with key staff.

Assist in equipment drop-off and pick-up at the on-site calibration lab.

Package and route documents for review and signature, utilizing Microsoft SharePoint or other software.

Assist with stocking and procurement of emergency management essential gear/equipment.

Maintain cleanliness of designated work areas, including various emergency management areas.

Minimum Requirements:

Possess and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Four (4) years of military or government experience in operations, planning, and/or development.

Basic knowledge of Navy/DoD organization and missions.

Comprehensive knowledge of military plans design and drafting methodology.

Proficiency in various software including MS Windows/Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees with discretion and tact.

Experience working on matters concerning the New START Treaty and Emergency Management.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to work independently and professionally, completing tasks accurately and on time.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds, climb ladders, and maneuver around obstacles.

Willingness to travel to different buildings/areas on the base, including those not accessible by wheelchair.

Work Environment:

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, subject to varying weather conditions.
