The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

Job Overview

This is a new role that will provide vital administrative support to the Guardian of Safe and Flexible Working.

You will be the first point of contact for exception reporting, ensuring concerns are logged, monitored and escalated appropriately. The post involves daily interaction with Resident Doctors, Educational Supervisors, rota teams and managers, requiring professionalism, accuracy and strong communication skills. You will analyse data, identify trends, and support the production of weekly and quarterly reports.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience who is confident working with data, systems and confidential information, and who wants to contribute to improving working conditions and patient safety.

Main duties of the job

You will monitor the exception reporting system daily, escalating immediate safety concerns to the Guardian and ensuring deadlines for reviews are met. The role includes managing correspondence, responding to queries, and providing first‑line advice to Resident Doctors on the reporting process. You will liaise with supervisors and service teams to ensure payment claims arising from exception reports are processed on time.

The post also involves maintaining accurate databases, producing reports, and ensuring all data is stored and managed in line with Health Board policies. You will help identify areas of concern, support action planning, and maintain financial records linked to Guardian penalties.
