Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and outgoing Assistant Director tojoin our team. In this role, you will provide support to our director, ensuring they have all the information and resources they need to perform their best. Your responsibilities will include

• Develop a curriculum and program:
Child Care Assistant Directors work closely with the center’s teachers and staff, creating learning plans or programs to meet state and federal requirements and parent’s expectations.
• Oversee staff:
Staff management is probably the most important task of a Child Care Assistant Director. They must interview, hire and train staff, making sure that all background and fingerprint checks have been conducted.
• Manage facilities:
The Child Care Assistant Director must make sure that the facility is safe and well-stocked. That includes checking that safety equipment is available and working, removing hazards and ensuring the facility is always clean and orderly.
• Market the facility:
There is much competition between daycare facilities, so the Child Care Assistant Director must have a marketing plan to promote awareness of the facility and its services.
• Meeting up with parents and teachers: A Child Care Assistant Director will meet with parents and teachers to keep parentsup-to-dateon their child’s development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issues.

Additional Responsibilities

Answer incoming phone calls and route them to the appropriate person

Schedule appointments and maintain calendar

Organize meetings and take accurate minutes

Write emails, memos, and letters and distribute them appropriately

Contribute to company reports

Maintain an organized filing system

Develop, update, and maintain relevant office procedures

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED required, Associate’s degree or administrative training is preferred

Previous experience as an Assistant Director or in a similar position

Familiarity with standard office equipment such as printers and fax machines

Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Power Point

Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects

Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills
