Description of Work

This position will directly support and be supervised by the Plant Manager. The Manager and Assistant Manager may request task to be performed by this position and may request the completion of special projects. This position will use a multi-line phone equipment, fax machine, photocopier, personal computer, printer calculators etc. and in maintaining files (electronic and hard copy This position will be required to place requisitions and receipt goods in the E-procurement system as well as complete the inmate time entry. This position will perform data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information using various Microsoft Office Applications. This position will complete the Weekly Processing Reports, Sales Reports, and Monthly Price Lists. This position mainly performs data entry of tasks that are repetitious in nature. Sudden changes in the work environment are not frequent for this employee however they do happen. Practically every task performed by this employee is governed by Department of Adult Correction any adjustment or change must be in conjunction with policy and procedures. In some instances, internal or state auditors will analyze specific tasks and make helpful suggestions as to how to do the task more efficiently. These occasions do cause adjustments but do not conflict with policy and procedure.

About Correctional Enterprises
The Moore Recycling Plant located on 15/501 South in Carthage, N.C., was established in 1998 as a test plant for developing an efficient and profitable method to reclaim highway signs. Over recent years this facility had expanded to include wooden pallets, aluminum cans, plastic and cardboard recycling. This facility also has four highway litter crews which collect litter beside the highways of NC. The litter collected is then separated into recyclables which are packaged and sold to various further recycling facilities. The Sign Reclaiming plant’s largest customer is the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Sign Reclaiming supports the statewide initiative for recycling. It is Correction Enterprises’ “Green Machine” as it operates a massive recycling and reuse effort.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
M-TH 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

Documented work experience utilizing Microsoft office, outlook, excel, and access.
Proven previous work experience in inventory control.
Experience in data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form with diverse audiences to while using confidentiality and discretion.
Management Preferences

General knowledge operating office equipment to include multi-line phone equipment, fax machine, photocopier, personal computer, printer calculators etc. i.e. copier, printers, scanners, etc.)
Working knowledge and experience using a multi-line phone system

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
