Job Summary
The Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing activities to ensure timely material availability for production. This role manages purchase orders, coordinates with suppliers, monitors deliveries, and supports smooth procurement operations in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) using approved suppliers.
- Coordinate with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules, pricing, and payment terms.
- Monitor deliveries and resolve delays, shortages, or quality issues.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure material availability.
- Maintain purchasing records, contracts, and supplier data in the ERP system (SAP preferred).
- Support cost control by monitoring price changes and purchasing trends.
- Handle urgent purchasing requests to avoid production disruption.
- Prepare purchasing reports and support internal/external audits.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and PO execution.
- Proficient in SAP (preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong negotiation, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, RoHS, and REACH is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
