Job Description:

This position is responsible for maintaining the consistent flow of daily operations of the practice by providing excellent customer service, effectively communicating with providers, patients, and insurance companies while efficiently handling all job functions and assigned responsibilities. The position advocates for the patient’s care and works in partnership with the care team to deliver a complete, individualized plan of care to the patient.

Job Duties:

Completes patient schedule management including coordinating patient procedures with NKCH departments; gathering patient history and physical examination information; scheduling next appointments, and completes patient follow up communications. Accurately schedules multiple patient office/testing appointments for multiple providers at multiple locations based on insurance and provider preferences. Maintains accurate records regarding patient’s procedure and other required information. Creates and distributes an accurate daily procedure/surgery/hospital service list.

Collaborates with office/NKCH meeting organizers and coordinates all physician meeting schedules. Ensures physician office schedule accurately reflects meeting times/locations. Creates and distributes daily physician location, call schedule, etc. for practice and identified NKCH locations.

Verifies insurance information and prior authorization approval for all procedures. Obtains all necessary outside records for physician prior to procedure. Assists in coordinating peer-to-peer physician/APP meetings to obtain insurance approvals prior to procedure, if procedure has been denied.

Works collaboratively with NKCH resources to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and timely. Provides hospital with consents, pre-procedure/operation orders and patient history and physical examination information.

Answers and coordinates all physician-to-physician phone calls. Coordinatescommunicationbetween physicians and other departments such as the Transfer Center. Coordinates physician testing overreads from outside facilities.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate in business or other related field or equivalent experience preferred

Minimum of 1 year experience in medical office scheduling procedures

Excellentcritical thinkingskills with the ability to make sound decisions

Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills;patient-centeredmentality
