Overview:

The Case Management Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support for the Case Management/Utilization Management team; with an emphasis on Case Management, Discharge Planning, Utilization Management, Resource Management and Social Services. The functions of Case Management Assistant is to use effective interpersonal skills in managing the complex interactions involved with the position related to department work flow including but not limited to; answering phone calls, faxing reviews, follow up on outstanding reviews and responses to denials received.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC INC. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC- ARMC and AHMC INC. The employee shall support AHMC- Anaheim Regional Medical Center’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC Inc initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education/Training/Experience

Prior experience in admitting or medical related field required

Ability to type 40-60 wpm with accuracy required

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point required

Knowledge of medical terminology required

Excellent organizational and prioritization skills required

Excellent communication skills required

Excellent customer relations with patients, physicians, co-workers, etc. required.

Knowledge of insurance contracts, multipayor systems and business office operation is preferred
