Job Overview:
Global Metal Works & Erectors is a Local Fabrication shop that services the PNW. We specialize in structural and ornamental steel. The Team at Global Metal Works & Erectors has worked hard over the years to develop and maintain a strong safety culture that has allowed us to achieve Gold status with Associated Builders and Contractors. We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join our team. This person would be responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of materials, shipping, packaging, and storing of materials. Strong work ethics and good customer service skills are a must.
Responsibilities:
Receive inbound shipments when not on the road.
Package, stage and load outgoing shipments.
Deliver material and customer orders on time and accurately.
Perform all job duties in accordance with L&I, OSHA, and DOT regulations along with all other applicable internal and external policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
Locate material in yard and shop for delivery.
Safely operate forklifts or other equipment
Use a forklift to load/unload boxes, pallets, and steel off and onto the truck.
Rigging to load /unload truck via Tower Crane
Driving 20’ flatbed trucks.
Requirements:
A background in transportation, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory management is preferred.
Reach Forklift experience and the ability to pass the certification course.
Basic math and computer skills
Prior flatbed and steel hauling experience
Ability to lift heavy material and package independently.
Understanding of the importance of yard organization.
Unloading with assistance of Tower Cranes.
Must currently possess and maintain a current and clear driving record.
