Full Job Description

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for all company locations across Florida and Tennessee. This position oversees daily operations for Residential, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, fiscal responsibility, and alignment with the organization’s mission and vision. The COO will collaborate closely with clinical, financial, HR, compliance, and outreach leadership to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide executive-level leadership and operational oversight for multi-site mental health and substance abuse facilities.

Develop, implement, and monitor operational plans, goals, and objectives to align with the company’s strategic vision.

Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer Manager of Centric and CEO to drive company-wide initiatives and growth strategies.

Ensure operational compliance with all state, federal, and accrediting body regulations (Joint Commission, CARF, AHCA, TN Department of Mental Health, etc.).

Oversee operational budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation to meet fiscal goals.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for census, patient outcomes, operational efficiency, staffing, and compliance.

Provide direct supervision and support to Directors of Operations, Program Directors, Clinical Directors, and other operational leaders across Florida and Tennessee.

Ensure operational readiness for audits, licensing surveys, and accreditation reviews.

Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives and performance management systems.

Serve as liaison to regulatory agencies, managed care organizations, referral partners, and external stakeholders as needed.

Ensure best practices in client care, staff safety, risk management, and facilities management.

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high ethical standards across all levels of the organization.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer Manager of Centric.

Education, Licensing, and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field.

Master’s degree preferred in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business (MBA), or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5–7 years of senior leadership experience in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment operations, including multi-site and multi-program oversight.

Strong understanding of mental health and substance abuse treatment models including Residential, PHP, and IOP.

Extensive experience managing budgets, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and operational efficiencies.

Licensure as a healthcare professional (RN, LMHC, LCSW, LPC-MHSP, or equivalent) is preferred but not required.

CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Must pass a Level II background check and drug screening.

Reporting Structure:

Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer Manager of Centric.
