Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
A high-growth, enterprise-focused technology business is looking to appoint a CTO to take ownership of its engineering function and core platform. This role sits on the leadership team and will be responsible for shaping how the company builds, scales, and operates its technology, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and long-term platform integrity.
The organisation operates in a complex, compliance-driven environment and is investing heavily in AI and next-generation engineering practices.
The Role
This is a hands-on strategic leadership role focused on engineering execution, platform architecture, and delivery systems, rather than product ownership. The CTO will define the standards, systems, and structures that enable engineering teams to scale effectively while maintaining high levels of quality and control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams delivering the core platform
- Own architecture, system design, and technical strategy
- Drive DevOps, CI/CD, and developer productivity
- Embed strong practices across reliability, security, and quality
- Lead adoption of AI across the SDLC, including emerging agentic workflows
- Establish efficient delivery systems and ways of working
- Build and mentor senior engineering leaders
Experience Required
- Senior leadership experience (CTO / Head of Engineering)
- Strong platform and architecture background
- Experience scaling teams and engineering systems
- Exposure to AI-driven engineering or automation
- Experience in regulated or complex environments preferred
