Responsibilities:
We have an opportunity for aClaims Assistantto join our Berkley Public Entity team! You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to support and enhance our claims business operations. You will conduct research to enhance operating efficiency and organizes data to deliver comprehensive program analysis and recommendations for improvement.
This role can be based in our offices in either Morristown, NJ or Ewing, NJ

Key functions include but are not limited to:
Provide outstanding customer service and documentation while working with the insured, broker and TPA in the adjustment of GL, Auto and Professional Liability claims
Maintain an active file diary to move files toward closure
Monitor pending reinsurance claims
Prepare various reporting and tracking of program trends
Prepare Reservation of Right and Declination letters with direction from Claims team
Set up first notice of loss (FNOL), report only or reinsurance claims
Effectively identify coverage issues
Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices
Process expense payments for the Claims team
Willing and able to travel for mediations, insured meetings, trial and conferences as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience
2+ years of insurance claims experience
Ability to stay organized and appropriately prioritize tasks in an efficient manner
Ability to build partnerships, and participate in business initiatives and projects
Willing to obtain state licenses
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
