About the Role
Global Doctors Clinic Langkawi is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and results-driven Clinic Manager – Business & Medical Development to lead the day-to-day operations of our established primary care clinic while driving strategic growth, corporate partnerships, medical tourism initiatives, and community healthcare programmes across Langkawi.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence while identifying new business opportunities, expanding healthcare services, and strengthening the clinic's presence within the hospitality, tourism, corporate, and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the clinic and ensure efficient, high-quality patient care and customer service.
- Manage clinic administration, staff scheduling, rostering, performance, and operational workflow.
- Ensure compliance with Ministry of Health Malaysia regulations, company policies, and quality assurance standards.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and implement continuous service improvements.
- Manage clinic inventory, procurement, vendor relationships, and facility maintenance.
- Prepare operational reports, budgets, financial summaries, and monthly performance analyses.
- Coordinate with doctors and allied healthcare professionals to ensure smooth clinical operations.
Business Development
- Identify and secure new corporate accounts, hotel partnerships, insurance panels, travel agencies, and strategic healthcare collaborations.
- Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to increase patient volume and revenue.
- Build and maintain relationships with hotels, resorts, tourism operators, government agencies, NGOs, and corporate organisations.
- Promote occupational health services, executive health screenings, vaccinations, preventive healthcare programmes, and wellness initiatives.
- Expand medical tourism and concierge healthcare services within Langkawi and the surrounding region.
- Identify opportunities for new healthcare services, satellite clinics, urgent care programmes, and strategic partnerships.
Medical Development
- Work closely with the medical team to enhance and expand clinical services.
- Develop and implement preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, and community outreach programmes.
- Coordinate health screenings, vaccination campaigns, and corporate wellness initiatives.
- Support the implementation of digital healthcare solutions and telemedicine services.
- Identify opportunities for introducing new medical services based on community and tourism healthcare needs.
Corporate & Strategic Responsibilities
- Prepare business proposals, presentations, reports, and strategic development plans.
- Liaise with government agencies, tourism stakeholders, hotels, insurers, and healthcare partners.
- Monitor key business performance indicators and recommend operational improvements.
- Support regional healthcare expansion projects and special initiatives assigned by Management.
- Represent Global Doctors Clinic at networking events, exhibitions, corporate engagements, and community programmes.
- Assist in identifying investment opportunities and strategic collaborations that contribute to the long-term growth of the organisation.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, Public Health, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in healthcare management, clinic operations, business development, hospitality management, or a related industry.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (additional languages are an advantage).
- Proven ability to develop business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and maintain corporate client relationships.
- Experience in medical tourism, corporate healthcare programmes, occupational health, healthcare marketing, or hospitality management will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital business tools, with the ability to prepare reports, budgets, and presentations.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to operational and business challenges.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Possess a valid Malaysian driving licence and be willing to travel within Langkawi for business development activities and corporate engagements.
