Description:
The Commission Administrator is responsible for the calculation and payment of non-payroll commission activities for our large base of insurance agents. This role maintains confidentiality, accuracy, compliance, and drives processes to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
This role will be an integral member of our growing and dynamic Accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of various commission plans. This role is critical to the day-to-day operations of the company, interacting with Senior Leaders, Sales Representatives, and the Accounting team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain & provide oversight that ensures strict adherence to all Commission Plans:
Ensure that compensation payouts are accurate and timely
Conduct self-audits by cross referencing reports and other data sources
Ensure compliance with garnishment requests from various state/federal agencies
Responsible for collection and analysis of data to calculate, adjust, and reconcile commission transactions prior to transmission
Identify, research, reconcile and resolve any discrepancies, and communication with any agents affected by those discrepancies
Act as liaison with our carrier partners to obtain data needed for integration with AMBA systems
Coordinate and perform detailed test scenarios on various projects
Assist with the improvement of the current commission process by applying more efficiency and automation
Receive calls/emails from a variety of internal customers with questions about commissions, and provide proper explanations or assist with resolutions to problems identified during those interactions
Produce ad hoc analysis and reports for Executive management team

Requirements:
Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, charting, etc.)
Demonstrated data manipulation skills, including work with complex data structures, commission plan structures
Accounting system experience desired (NetSuite experience a plus)
Commission system experience desired (AgencyBloc and/or VUE Distribution Management Suite experience a plus)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, collaboration and presentation skills
Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or 1-2 years of experience in analytic finance/accounting, compensation, or payroll
Must exercise considerable judgment and planning, and have the ability to work independently
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic and tactful manner, all while maintaining confidentiality of all compensation-related information
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities; multi-task and meet deadlines
Previous experience demonstrating change and support for innovation and for organizational changes needed to improve the organizations effectiveness
Updating and reconciling to the general ledger
Strong quantitative background – must understand how all transactions affect the bottom line.
