Job Overview
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Community Administrator to join community services at Fleet Hospital. This is an office‑based role providing essential administrative support, with patient contact primarily via telephone, email and the EMIS system.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. You will be well organised, adaptable and enthusiastic, with strong interpersonal and time‑management skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality administrative support.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Clinical Specialist Nurses, Community Therapists and Support staff. It is ideally suited to candidates with proven administrative experience and a positive, flexible approach to change.
Important Information
- Location: This role is fully on‑site at Fleet Community Hospital (office based; not hybrid).

Main duties of the job
- Provide a flexible, responsive and high‑quality administrative service to the department, adapting to changing service needs.
- Plan and organise own workload effectively using appropriate planning tools, demonstrating strong time‑management skills and proactively escalating any potential issues in meeting deadlines.
- Act on team requests, including the preparation and processing of correspondence and other ad‑hoc administrative tasks, in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Gather, organise and maintain information to support work activities, ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with organisational and information governance requirements.
- Respond promptly, professionally and courteously to enquiries from colleagues, GPs and patients.
- Ensure secure storage and appropriate management of all records and resources, including electronic and computerised information.
- Scan and upload relevant patient documentation accurately to the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.
- Support clinicians with generating and sending correspondence.
- Manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls efficiently, ensuring all calls are handled in a timely, professional and patient‑focused manner.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 Administration or equivalent practical knowledge.
- GCSE maths and English grade C or above.
- ECDL or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an office environment.
- Experience of working within a team environment.
- Call centre experience
Desirable criteria
- Working in the NHS in a hospital/private practice/GP setting.
- Provide general non-clinical advice.
Skills & Knowledge

- Competent with current software programmes (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Be able to work in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Logical reasoning i.e. providing/receiving routine/sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
