The House of Commons Administration is currently looking to create a pool of candidates for anticipatory staffing of the Constituency Assistant role.
About the role :
Reporting directly to the Member of Parliament, the Constituency Assistant plays a key role in providing comprehensive casework, executive, and administrative support. This position is essential in supporting the Member’s key objectives and priorities through effective outreach, communication, event planning, and other strategic activities.
Primary responsibilities :
As the Constituency Assistant, you will manage the Member’s communications, maintain their schedule, and coordinate meetings, travel, and events. You will also draft correspondence, provide administrative support, and help manage systems for tracking requests and deadlines.
Your role will involve assisting constituents with various cases, including immigration and Canada Revenue Agency matters, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolutions. Additionally, you will support special projects and perform other duties as needed to ensure the smooth running of the constituency office.

Qualifications :
Education :
Postsecondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
Experiences :
Experience providing reception or administrative support in a professional office environment;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely;
Experience with in a fast-paced client service environment;
Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools, in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook;
Experience collaborating with clients and partners to problem-solve and achieve common objectives.
Asset :
Experience in the political field (Hill Campaign or Constituency Office).
