Contract Administrator
(Commercial and Operational)
Business Unit: 5064 – Milton Keynes
Location: Milton Keynes
Job Role
Ringway are looking for a Contracts Administrator to join our highways team, supporting the commercial, operational and finance functions on a major contract.
This is a varied, business‑wide role rather than a traditional admin position, offering exposure across multiple departments and the opportunity to build valuable experience within a major infrastructure environment.
Duties
The Role
You’ll support the day‑to‑day administration of an NEC contract, acting as a key link between the client, the commercial team and operational colleagues. While the role is predominantly office‑based, it offers real insight into how a live highways contract is managed end to end.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Support NEC contract administration through CEMAR
- Manage early warnings, compensation events, quotations and correspondence
- Track defects, completed works and outstanding actions
- Provide commercial, operational and financial admin support
- Manage document control, filing and meeting actions
This is a newly created role, giving the successful candidate the chance to shape how the position develops while gaining hands‑on experience across commercial, operational and financial functions.
What You'll Gain
- Exposure to how major highways and infrastructure contracts are managed
- Experience working with NEC contracts and industry‑standard systems
- A varied workload with no two days the same
- Development opportunities with clear future pathways into commercial, operational or project roles
- The chance to build a long‑term career within a supportive and established highways business
Person Specification
Essential
- Admin experience within construction, highways or engineering
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confident use of Microsoft 365
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Clear communication and a proactive approach
Desirable (but Not Essential)
- Exposure to NEC contracts
- Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management systems
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full Time – 40 – Monday to Friday
