ABOUT THE ROLE

FastLogix Automation is a Louisville-based industrial controls engineering firm supporting major logistics and material handling operations nationwide. We're bringing on a contract Controls Engineer to support peak project deployments, with a path to a full-time offer for the right candidate.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

– Commission, troubleshoot, and support PLC-controlled conveyor and sortation systems at client facilities across the U.S and Canada.

– Program and modify Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC logic (Studio 5000 / Logix platforms).

– Troubleshoot and configure variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor-driven roller (MDR) conveyor systems.

– Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel drawings, and wiring diagrams.

– Coordinate with on-site facility teams, GCs, and client project managers.

– Document commissioning activities, punch list items, and field changes.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

– Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

– 1–3 years of hands-on controls engineering experience in industrial automation or material handling.

– Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000).

– Proficiency with AutoCAD is a plus.

– Experience with VFD commissioning and parameter configuration.

– Familiarity with MDR conveyor systems (24VDC zone logic, motor roller controllers).

– Ability to confidently read electrical drawings and panel schematics.

– Comfortable working independently at remote customer sites with minimal supervision.

– Able and willing to travel 80% nationwide — this role is primarily field-based.

– Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.

– Contract length: 6 months (July – Dec 2026).
