Responsibilities:
Oversees the management of the administrative functions of the Operating Room to ensure they are operating according to established standards; reports to and takes direction from the Perioperative Director and Nurse Manager; works with departmental Chairs and Director of Operations to address concerns of the Surgery staff and acts as a liaison between Chairs, Director of Operations, and staff; works with the department’s Clinical Supervisors concerning issues with clinical operating room nursing services, staff and equipment; oversees the Surgical Office staff to include training and preparing performance evaluations; monitors patient utilization data, surgery schedules, and oversees human resources functions of the Operating room, including recruitment and management of staff and approving and/or acknowledging time sheets and/or leave reports; works with the appropriate personnel and coordinates the daily Operating Room schedule for Inpatient and Outpatient procedures; manages business operations throughout the Operating Room, including creation, implementation, and results facilitation of all scheduling functions to maximize efficiencies and maintain budget controls; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and four years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Directly related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Current licensure as RN or LPN with the state of Alabama is preferred.
