We are seeking a Credit Controller to lead our Accounts Receivable function in Port Moresby. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong financial acumen with confident leadership and a passion for building efficient, customer-focused processes.
The Role:
Reporting to the AR/Projects Manager, the Credit Controller will take ownership of the company’s credit management functions, ensure effective risk control while driving timely collections and maintaining strong customer relationships. You’ll lead a team of AR officers and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Management
- Assess and approve customer credit applications
- Set and review credit limits and payment terms
- Conduct ongoing credit risk assessments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit records
2. Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Lead and develop a team of AR officers, driving accountability and performance
- Oversee debtor balances and ensure timely collections
- Manage escalations, billing disputes, and overdue accounts
- Lead debtor review meetings with senior leadership
3. Cash Flow & Reporting
- Produce aged receivables reports and performance insights
- Forecast cash collections and highlight risks
- Provide regular updates to management on AR performance
4. Stakeholder & Process Management
- Build strong customer relationships and support onboarding
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to resolve account issues
- Improve credit control processes and ensure compliance with policies
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 3 to 5 Years proven experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable
- Strong leadership and team management capability
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Pronto highly regarded)
Potential must be flexible to work Saturdays, and on public holidays when required. This role requires a Police Clearance certificate as a minimum requirement.
