Job Overview
Smith Knowles Law Firm is looking for an experienced assistant to join our team with a background of estate planning, probate, real estate, and business transactions . A precise attention to detail, the ability to work under strict deadlines, and the capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities are required for this position. Environment is fast paced with an emphasis on individual performance and team-oriented goals. This is an full-time position.
Responsibilities
– Offer executive administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
– Assist in proofreading legal documents for accuracy and completeness
– Handle estate planning documentation and procedures
– Support legal professionals in law matters
– Manage legal cases by organizing and maintaining case files
– Conduct research on various legal topics as needed
– Utilize document management systems to store and retrieve information efficiently
– Demonstrate professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients and other parties
Experience
– Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal with a background of estate planning, probate, real estate, and business transactions.
– Familiarity with legal case management processes
– Proficiency in conducting legal research and utilizing document management systems
– Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
Job Description
The Legal Assistant will be responsible for matters from referral to close of file. A precise attention to detail, the ability to work under strict deadlines, and the capacity to prioritize multiple responsibilities are required for this position. Environment is fast paced with an emphasis on individual performance and team-oriented goals. This is an full-time entry level position.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Scheduling
‪Preparing notices
‪Preparing and recording documents
Preparing and filing documents with various court systems
‪Extensive communication with clients and others via phone, email and letter
Periodic backup receptionist duties
Qualifications
Experience and Skills:
‪Computer savvy
‪Excellent verbal and written communication skills
‪Ability to efficiently plan and prioritize multiple tasks
‪Possess good organizational skills and attention to detail
‪Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change
‪Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
‪Strong analytical and problem solving skills
‪Team player and willing to provide assistance in multiple areas whenever is necessary
Self-Motivated
Some firm, court or other relevant experience is a plus
Spanish language skills are also a plus
