The Metlakatla CEM Project Coordinator is a key member of the Metlakatla CEM Program. This role involves leading and coordinating the activities of the Priority Metlakatla Values Teams and supporting administrative, communication, and engagement efforts within the CEM Program. The position ensures alignment of team initiatives with CEM objectives, facilitates community engagement, and oversees project and program management activities.
Responsibilities:
Values Team Coordination
Organize, plan, and facilitate Values Teams meetings and activities.
Develop and manage logistics, schedules, and day-to-day operations of the team and ensure smooth execution and communication of the team’s workplan.
Align Values Teams’ initiatives with CEM Program goals.
Monitor progress and outcomes of Values Teams projects and provide regular updates to leadership.
Community Engagement
Act as a liaison between Metlakatla departments, external groups, staff, and researchers engaged in the CEM Program.
Plan and coordinate community engagement activities, including events like the CEM Gathering.
Program and Project Management
Oversee the planning and implementation of CEM monitoring programs, such as the Metlakatla Membership Census.
Manage project communications, including maintaining the program website and social media platforms.
Develop and maintain reporting tools to track and evaluate project progress.
Administrative Support
Perform general office administrative tasks, including email management, supply coordination, and office space organization.
Maintain and safeguard digital and physical inventories, ensuring confidentiality of program resources.

Perform other duties within the scope of the position, as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
Additional qualifications or experience in project coordination, resource management, or environmental stewardship are considered assets.
Proven ability to coordinate teams and manage projects, including timelines and reporting.
Experience in community engagement, particularly within First Nation contexts, with an understanding of Coast Tsimshian culture and practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, Google Earth, Word Press, Survey Monkey, and data visualization tools.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities, attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with Metlakatla members, managers, and leadership to facilitate decision-making.
Capability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to evolving project needs.
Collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
An acceptable Criminal Record Check. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
