Job Description:
Customs Documentation Coordinator
The Customs Documentation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the documentation required by US Customs and other Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide impeccable customer service.
Process commodities requiring specialized handling to mitigate risks of liquidated damages and penalties by accurate classification and application of proper duty preferences.
Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs resources.
Enter data and process various import documentation for submission to US Customs, including handling all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs).
Maintain and update shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements.
Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
Collaborate with internal staff, departments, Fed Ex operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service.
Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed.
Perform entry reconciliations and reviews to ensure accuracy.
Follow up on Customs matters and resolve issues promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned. Paid training is provided.
Minimum Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 6 months work experience; 12 months industry experience preferred.
Data entry and keyboard skills required.
CCS and/or Broker’s license preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive work independently.
Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred.

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
