Database Administrator
Remote (Based at an approved local secure facility). We work US time zones and ask that you're available during those hours, even if that means adjusting your schedule.
This role exists to keep critical database systems stable, secure, and performing at full capacity without interruption. Data loss or downtime in this environment carries direct operational consequences, so zero-error execution is a baseline expectation. Work is primarily asynchronous, requiring the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues independently without waiting for direction. You will be part of an internationally distributed technology team that operates within a structured, process-driven environment.
What You'll Do
Own the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and availability of all database systems
Monitor and tune database performance using dedicated performance monitoring tools, resolving bottlenecks before they affect operations
Design and enforce database security controls, including access management and vulnerability mitigation
Manage and test backup and recovery procedures using backup software, ensuring data can be fully restored at any time
Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, changes, and incident responses
What We're Looking For
1–5 years of experience in database administration, or 5+ years at a mid-senior level
Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain production database environments
Hands-on experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools
Proven track record implementing and managing database security controls
Experience designing and executing backup and recovery procedures under real conditions
Strong written English — our company works in English
Bonus — Not Required
Experience administering databases across multiple platforms or environments
Prior work in a fully remote, asynchronous technology team
