Overview
We are looking for a Dental Hygiene Assistant in Springfield, Massachusetts to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment. This person will handle a variety of clinical duties for dental office operations that range in complexity and skill with plenty of room to learn and grow. All aspects of the job require an exceptional level of customer service and communication skills.
Salary: $23-$26/hr
Responsibilities
The following dental hygiene assisting duties are noted; however, other duties may be assigned:
Distributes and collects completed documentation from patients including medical history.
Sets up and breaks down treatment rooms, cleans and sterilizes treatment rooms.
Sterilizes and maintains equipment and instruments.
Upholds office policy including HIPAA and OSHA.
Greets and escorts patients into operatories and escorts them out.
Performs assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance duties.
Reviews medical history and inputs it into CPS. Asks initial consult questions from patients, records information, and takes intra-oral pictures for the doctor. Fills out exam notes as dictated by the doctor.
Ability to take clinically appropriate x-rays.
Obtain and review needed consent for patient treatment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Completion of Dental Assisting Program preferred.
