Full Job Description

Seeking an attentive, friendly Dental Receptionist / Scheduling Coordinator to join our business team. The Dental Receptionist / Scheduling Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for the dental office and is responsible for maintaining a courteous, positive atmosphere of excellent customer service, while facilitating important business team functions.

Interact with others in ways that are friendly, courteous, and tactful.

Establish rapport with patients by demonstrating respect for individuals, their circumstances, attitudes and feelings.

Answer and place phone calls, resolve questions, and schedule appointments.

Manage daily treatment schedule, including emergencies and cancellations.

Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes. Assist patients with paperwork. Enter necessary information in database.

Receive and accurately record patient payments and daily deposit information.

Submit and track insurance claims and pre-estimates.

Submit accurate prescription orders.

Facilitate records requests to/from other providers.

Organize, scan and maintain patient records.

Process incoming/outgoing mail.

Monitor recall and unscheduled treatment metrics.

Assist with lab and inventory tracking and other office supply orders.

Assist with operatory set up, clean up and sterilization duties, as needed.

Understand and comply with standard policies and procedures associated with a dental practice, including OSHA regulations, HIPAA regulations, the HI-TECH Act of 2009, and CDC guidelines.

Perform other job-related duties, as needed.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

2(+) years previous related work experience (preferred).

Complete or show proof of completion of approved basic life support (BLS) course.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent technology skills including telephone/intercom systems, Microsoft Office, and dental scheduling software (Eaglesoft preferred).

Basic knowledge of standard dental practices, procedures, charting, scheduling and billing (preferred).

High-level of attention to detail.

High-level of ethical conduct.

Hard-working and self-motivated.

Team-member focus.

Fluent in Spanish (preferred).

Position Details

This is full-time, non-exempt position of approximately 36 hours per week.

Anticipated schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (with a 1-hour meal break).

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do detailed work, using arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate the required office equipment. The employee intermittently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend and reach throughout the day. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is needed. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be physically able to administer CPR.
