Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryPosition performs several accounting functions such as purchasing, check requests, travel documents, accounts receivable and ad-hoc business analysis. This position is also responsible for billing and collections of all educational service fees generated by the Technology &LeadershipCenter (TLC).
Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Performs routine accounting and bookkeeping duties following established guidelines and procedures. Duties include invoice payments, purchase orders, check requests, interdepartmental charges, travel requests, and recordation of pro-card expenditures for the ProfessionalEducationdepartments. In addition, this position manages all the billing, collections and analysis of aged receivables associated with educational service fees generated by the TLC. Monitor and report actual expenses to budget making sure management is aware of any potential issues and using BA’s when necessary to ensure proper payment of invoices can be made.

Entry of various necessary information into the subsidiary registration, billing, and classroom management system used for TLC(currently Destiny) to include but not limited to course/section scheduling data, student registrations and communications, and maintenance of groups for billing purposes. Extract and analyze client data from the subsidiary system to generate various routine and ad-hoc reports regarding student activity, changes in offerings, and progress toward certificate completion.

Reconciles subsidiary systems (i.e. Destiny) to Workday monthly. Responsible for bringing any discrepancies to a proper resolution.

Performs year-end accrual and deferral journals to ensure financial statements are in accordance with GAAP.

Coordinates and manages all required textbook orders and desk copies for Sever courses/faculty each of the three semesters. This requires coordination with faculty, WU bookstore, and various publishers.

Assists Senior Business Manager with business analytics and other special projects that will help management make financial decisions. Performs other duties as assigned, to include serving in a back-up capacity to the TLC operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Ability to learn systems quickly and easily.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction and oversight.

Experience in an academic environment.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Strong oral and writtencommunication skills.

Organized and strongattention to detail.

Capable of handling several task/projects at a time and prioritizing responsibilities.

Cooperative andpositive attitude, able to work well in ateam environment.

Ability to adapt to change.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.

Minimum of three years accounting/bookkeeping experience, including general office and computer skills.

Salary Range

$20.76 – $32.21 / Hourly The

salary range

reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
