About this role: The Development and Admin Associate supports the Development Director in all related fundraising endeavors. Specifically, we seek a highly motivated individual to manage our recurring donor (Humane Heroes) program, improve donor engagement, help increase our fundraising capabilities, and support year-end administrative work. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is mission-driven and wishes to help increase the ability of our sanctuary to save more animals.
This is a temporary, 3-month, part-time onsite position at our Grass Valley location.
Job Status: Part-time, 3-month contract, 16-20 hours weekly
Supervision: Reports to the Development Director

Responsibilities & Duties:
Development (Program Development & Writing)
Help develop a monthly communication to major gift-givers
Create assets, text, and implement each monthly communication campaign
Nurture, thank, and engage with mid-level donors
Collaborate with the Development Director & Executive Director to develop an ongoing nurturing of legacy (bequest) givers
Write, mail, and email monthly updates to recurring donors
Monitor monthly pledges & update payment information
Print out invoices for check donors
Work to increase the number or average gift size through engagement campaigns with monthly donors
Write thank you letters to specific campaigns
Create campaigns in our CRM, Virtuous, for fundraising endeavors
Support efforts in creating fundraising campaigns in Classy
Data Management and Admin
Assist with record keeping in Virtuous and thanking donors
Build reports for mailings and supporter data
Keep records of supporter programs
Maintain CRM integrity
Support Development Director & Executive Director in miscellaneous tasks related to development
Data and asset collection for grant proposals
Pull mailing lists and interface with mail house for direct mail appeals
Assist in back filling the administrative assistant
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Two years of nonprofit development experience
Excellent writing skills and an understanding of writing to fundraise and thank
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both in person and over the phone, via email, and in written correspondence
Excellent command of office technology tools including:
Google suite, Microsoft Word, Excel and database software;
Virtuous and Classy experience a plus.
