The Development Assistant supports the Technology and Gift Services team members at Boston Children’s Hospital Trust. Using a broad understanding of the department’s fundraising philosophy, they employ administrative, organizational, and communication skills to support fundraising activities at the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide general office support, including heavy scheduling and maintenance of meeting calendars for department leadership; schedule appointments and meetings both in-person and via Zoom.

Perform system updates, user testing, and maintenance of our Blackbaud CRM system.

Maintain constituent information in the donor database, including biographical details, Trust codes, solicitor actions, and proposal information.

Help manage vendor relations and negotiations for the department.

Prepare invoices, process payments for vendors and employee reimbursements, and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile monthly bills with the budget as needed.

Assist supervisors with projects and the preparation of reports and documents.

Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree and 4 years of related work experience required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and may replace the experience requirement.

Volunteer or fundraising experience is a plus.

Strong critical thinking and professional communication skills.

Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to manage time effectively.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
