Diesel Electrical Fitter Job in Cape Town, Western Cape at SFG Engineering Services –
Minimum of five (5) years Diesel Fitter/Auto Electrician experience
Minimum of five (5) years mechanical repair on diesel engines
A legal driver licences min code 8.
A recognised tertiary qualification is an advantage (Qualified Diesel Mechanic/Fitter or Auto Electrician)
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to work well under pressure.
A sense of urgency with a strong customer service orientation.
Will be required to be on standby and provide 24-hour technical support.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
Be able and willing to learn electrical wiring through internal training processes to achieve engine wiring and testing.
Compile and complete technical, Health and Safety documents for SLA submissions.
Completing and keeping record of all services related work.
Experience with MS Office, specifically Excel and word.
A keen sense of urgency and willingness to learn additional job-related skills.
Ability to work well in a team setting and have good organizational skills.
Good telephone manner.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
Job responsibilities:
Mechanical and Electrical field services of Diesel Engines/generators
Completing of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) documentation
Applicant must have the ability to switch between Diesel Mechanic and General Fitter with a good knowledge of reading electrical drawings and understand fault finding.
Applicant must be able to work independently and complete service work on time within budget.
Provide 24 Hour Technical Support for the Generator Set Division
Provide telephonic support to customers and sales staff.
Identify / diagnose generator problems telephonically in conjunction with the preceding item.
Evaluate issues on specific applications where equipment is used.
Attend to breakdowns on site as and when required.
Receive, analyse, and report on faulty Generator sets.
Report to the client in writing and keep proper record of repairs and returns.
Report warranty claims.
Fault finding and repairs on site in the event of a generator failure where support will also be given by the Field Services Supervisor.
Assist with all Diesel Services admin and sales function to grow the business.
Assist with warranty claims and reporting.
Support to Johannesburg and all the Company Branches with Diesel related services.
Assist with follow up on quotations and work towards Diesel services.
Assist with site meeting for new Diesel services related work.
Attending to mechanical and Electrical breakdown
Servicing of Diesel Generators, Replacement of parts and testing of equipment
Be active in the implementation and maintenance of the SOP and SWP
