Summary

The Director of Investigative and Administrative Services will provide support to the Associate Vice President (AVP) to fulfill the administrative, budgetary, investigative and technological missions of the Division of Public Safety. The incumbent is responsible for the day to day management and continuous improvement of these service lines and operations. Incumbent provides staff support on Divisional corporate issues and high level conceptual input into complex top management deliberations and decisions involving the functions and mission of the Division of Public Safety.

Responsibilities

Lead and implement corporate functions of JHS Division of Public Safety investigative and corporate operations.

Support the mission of protecting life and property of patients, visitors, and employees through planning, directing, coordinating, and improving administration, budgeting, internal investigations, security technology, and special projects as directed by the AVP.

Demonstrate judgment, initiative, and self-sufficiency in effective problem-solving while serving as an administrative and operational resource for the AVP of Public Safety.

Assist in developing and implementing the investigative and corporate operations service line.

Communicate issues identified by frontline staff, other departments, and outside entities to the AVP regarding new and ongoing challenges.

Support, execute, and monitor organizational and Division mandates.

Facilitate timely, effective communication and collaboration among Division staff.

Manage and develop performance metrics through efficient resource utilization.

Undertake special projects as requested by the AVP.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments affecting Division operations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

Inform the AVP about the status of operations and provide support in developing and implementing long-range strategic and cooperation plans aligned with the JHS philosophy and mission statement.

Recommend changes in long-range policies and strategies of the department as appropriate.

Promote a positive public image of the department’s activities, accomplishments, and expectations.

Develop and implement processes to assess performance levels based on the JHS mission and vision statement.

Motivate and maintain an effective staff to carry out assigned responsibilities.

Provide training and development for service line staff and plan and coordinate educational programs as needed.
