Job Description

Under the general direction of the Commission President and General Manager, the Director of Commission Affairs of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) manages the Commission office; prepares for and assists with the facilitation of Commission meetings; maintains official Commission documents; serves as liaison between the Commission and SFPUC enterprises and bureaus staff, other city departments, outside agencies, and the public as necessary;

and performs related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

Manage Commission meeting materials and records, including agendas, public hearing notices, meeting minutes, approved resolutions, and other materials as required by state and local laws.

Manage the agenda review process and the development of Commission agendas via the workflow process and other established procedures. Monitor “regular” and “consent” agenda items throughout the process to ensure timely release of items as per deadlines. Communicate with project managers regarding issues that may negatively impact scheduling of agenda items.

Communicate with SFPUC executive staff, project managers, and others regarding the scheduling of routine Commission agenda items (reports and communications) to ensure required documents are received by the deadline.

Lead Commission agenda review meetings. Prepare and distribute draft meeting agenda for staff review prior to meeting.

Prepare final Commission meeting agenda, ensuring agenda item links are correct and complete.

Publish agenda on Commission website, distribute to interested parties, and post at meeting location by the required deadline.

Prepare and publish electronic materials for the Commission and executive staff, via Directors Desk web platform.

Prepare and publish public hearing notices, including publishing newspaper notices, if required, as per law.
