DESCRIPTION
The Director of Organizational Development will build the program and lead a team that will focus on the following areas:
Strategic thinking and planning, talent pipeline development to serve the long-term needs of the organization, implement the emerging
leadership
program, develop and implement the apprenticeship programs in
skilled trades
and operations positions, develop and implement
leadership development
programs that include coaching, and program curricula development.
The Director is expected to use creative and
innovative
ideas to facilitate development programs and solutions that will also improve
process efficiency
in all business practices. Organizational development programs would encompass
leadership development
,
succession planning
, career pathing, competency profile management, performance management, and apprenticeship programs. The position will interact with all levels of employees while assessing planning needs and implementing strategic activities.
Additionally, the Director works with cross-functional stakeholders to identify needs and develop business cases and participates in
change management
planning. This role will also be a significant contributor to the development of MTA’s organization and culture.

Collaborate with the administration’s executive team and management to prepare the agency for its long-term growth.
Create and expand the administration’sleadershipplan, work with leaders to develop other leaders, and identify talent in new and existing staff.
Facilitate meetings andleadershipand talent development programs and teach leaders how to incorporate the administration’s business strategy into all people decisions.
Assess current organizational structures and help leaders plan for transitions when necessary.
Analyze the cost/benefit relationship of existing and proposed new programs.
Lead long-termsuccession planningtied to talent development for key roles.
Provideleadershipcoaching where appropriate or facilitate the use of outside coaching resources.
Develop and assist in the management of apprenticeship programs for appropriate positions.
