Overview
Responsible for leading the receiving & distribution operations of a cross-dock type facility; overseeing the receipt, sortation & outbound transportation for the distribution of office products, boxed paper and other miscellaneous goods.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee transportation, distribution & maintenance operations performance
· Lead transportation & warehouse staff to deliver cost efficiency and high levels of service
· Setup warehouse layout & ensure efficient space utilization
· Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies & procedures
· Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
· Liaise with clients, vendors & independent contractor drivers
· Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
· Recruit, select, orient, coach & motivate employees
· Produce reports & statistics regularly
Position Requirements
· Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
· Final Mile transportation experience
· Expertise in warehouse management procedures & best practices
· Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
· Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
· Strong decision making and problem solving skills
· Excellent communication skills
· BS Degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
