The University Library’s Emerging Technology Lab Coordinator develops and manages resources, policies, and activities that pertain to emerging technologies in King Library, especially those connected with King Library’s Virtual Experiential Reality Lab (KLEVR Lab). The incumbent works with faculty, staff, and students in the library and on campus to develop curriculum and programming for these areas. The incumbent also supports research and scholarly activities utilizing a variety of emerging and innovative technologies and participates in grant-funded activities related to these areas.
The incumbent develops policies and guidelines for the use of devices and lab; manages equipment and inventory, and provides advice on budget, purchasing of equipment, and space renovation in collaboration with SJSU IT and other library departments. The Coordinator hires, schedules, trains, and supervises student assistants, and monitors annual student assistant budget allocation and/or grant funding allocations for student research assistants.
This position contributes to the University Library’s commitment to bringing anti-racism practices into library services and operations by supporting strategic initiatives in this area and ensuring alignment with the library’s core values of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
