This position is within the Motor Carrier Services Division. Motor Carrier Services provides services to the interstate motor carrier industry based in Nebraska. The primary duties of the division are to manage and administer two programs: The International Registration Plan (IRP) and the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) . IRP is a vehicle registration program where fees registration fees are collected based on the percentage of miles operated in the various states and Canadian provinces an interstate fleet of trucks operate. IFTA is a fuel tax program where fuel taxes are reconciled and distributed also based on the miles operated in the respective states and provinces. Nebraska has a robust trucking industry, and we are looking for customer focused employee to join our team and work with this important industry! This particular position serves in a support role for the entire division and reports to the division administrator.

Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.

Other: Some positions may require: experience and/or training that is unique to the work assigned; a valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation; and/or criminal history background checks and other specific background check protocols for their agency.

Job Responsibilities:

Orders all general office supplies for the division.

Orders license plates for the division and two entities that issue their own plates, this includes maintaining inventory statuses

Updates as necessary and orders all forms, applications, envelopes of various sizes and colors and manages the associated inventories.

Works with DAS for the division’s copy needs and completes all printing requisitions.

Updates the DMV website for the MCS portion.

Oversees the creation of a quarterly newsletter for the IFTA program.

Oversees the records management process for the division.

Is the primary point of contact for toll violation disputes that involve IRP plated vehicles

Communication via the telephone and email with interstate trucking customers, banks, county officials other state agencies and agents. Answer public phone calls and assist in-person customers.
