Position Overview
Do you have experience processing licensing request and providing customer service? The Illinois Lottery is seeking to hire an Office Associate with the Legal Division. The individual in this position will work as a team member, providing customer service, guidance, and direction to Lottery retailers to ensure they receive a license to sell Lottery. Essential Functions
Reviews for propriety applications for change -in -ownerships and prospective agents.
Initiates and receives telephone calls to/from current and prospective retailers regarding the status of their licenses and applications, licenses pending expiration, license renewals, and general licensing rules and regulations.
Prepares, sorts, and maintains the physical file inventory of Lottery applications.
Works with Corporate Accounts by setting up new locations and renewing the licenses of current stores.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Requires two (2) years of office experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefers extensive knowledge of office practices procedures and programs.
Prefers extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Prefers working knowledge of basic mathematics.
Prefers elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules, and regulations.
Prefers the ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
Prefers ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Prefers the ability to use Microsoft Office at a beginner level.
Conditions of Employment
Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
Requires the ability to stand, stoop and lift above shoulder level.
