What you will do at Precinct One
Provide administrative assistance to the individuals, divisions, buildings, or assigned areas. Ensure tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently. Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive service and work order requests, and refer constituent/employee requests to the proper service department. Management System, input, notate, and report statuses as needed.
Coordinate all administrative and clerical duties, including document preparation, and records management. Screen and route phone calls and inquiries to the Superintendent, and other Managers as deemed appropriate. Manage calendars to schedule meetings, travel and interviews.
Order supplies, perform data entry, and provide management or team with any administrative support needed. Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly work calendars. Schedule and coordinate meetings and interviews for the Superintendent
Assist Managers, Superintendent reports budget and other administrative/clerical duties. Utilize organizational skills to prioritize, multitask, and assist in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Superintendent, and Precinct One
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Five (5) year of experience in providing administrative support
Proficiency in Microsoft software applications; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Skilled in establishing organization and assisting others with the administrative parts of their job
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks to meet division goals and objectives.

This role is largely sedentary however, some physical activities such as lifting up to 10 lbs. and twisting and bending is required

About Precinct One
There are four precincts in Harris County. The four elected commissioners, along with an elected county judge, serve as members of the Harris County Commissioners Court, the administrative head of the county’s government. With approximately 1.1 million residents, Harris County Precinct One is a diverse, urban precinct that covers 363 square miles. Precinct One’s multi-racial, multi-ethnic population is roughly 39 percent African American, 37 percent Latino, 18 percent Anglo, 5 percent Asian, and 1 percent other. Precinct One, which includes 876 miles of road, stretches south to Brazoria County and reaches into eastern and northern sections of Harris County. The Precinct’s territory includes a large section of Downtown Houston, including the Downtown Harris County Courthouse Complex, Toyota Center, Minute Maid Park, and the BBVA Compass Stadium. Other notable landmarks include the 263-acre NRG Park Complex and the renowned Texas Medical Center. The Precinct is also the higher educational home to Houston Community College, Rice University, Texas Southern University, the University of Houston, and the University of St. Thomas. Precinct One manages more than 20 parks, 11 community centers, numerous hike-and-bike trails, three maintenance service centers, and several area offices, all of which provide an array of services to Precinct One residents.
