The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) resides in the UW-Stevens Point Office of Continuing Education which extends university programs and resources beyond the campus by offering non-credit courses, workshops, and conferences to meet the learning needs of audiences of all ages.

JOB DUTIES:
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant provides programmatic and administrative support to the Small Business Development Center. This person will be an important link of communication for attendees, external partners, instructors, faculty, and staff, and will work to ensure efficiency of business assistance to clients. This position works closely with both the SBDC Director, as well as other SBDC staff, Continuing Education, University personnel, and external audiences on a regular basis. The employee must be able to work independently, make decisions based on sound judgement, and display a professional manner in the frequent contact with committees, program participants, instructors, presenters, faculty, academic departments, and public and private agencies.
Work Schedule: 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Varied hours and some travel may be required to support the needs of the department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or experience in an administrative or clerical role
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Product Suite (specifically Word and Excel) and file management, e-marketing, the internet, and various software applications
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to act as a resource for, provide customer service in a courteous manner to, and work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels both internal and external to the university
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience working on projects requiring a high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the coordination of events with highest consideration to candidates with continuing education outreach, conference planning, workshop/training planning
Demonstrated experience with website maintenance
Experience developing marketing materials and social media campaigns

Terms of Employment
This is an on-going University Staff position, non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is required to serve a six-month probation period.
