Housing Australiais an independent corporate Commonwealth entity, dedicated to improving housing outcomes for more Australians, and will be responsible for facilitating 40,000 new social and affordable homes under the Housing Australia Future Fund and the National Housing Accord.

Housing Australia arranges funding for community housing providers and new housing infrastructure projects through the Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA) and National Housing Infrastructure Facility (NHIF). We also support home ownership by administering a number of Home Guarantee Schemes, and produce strategic housing data and insights. Housing Australia was previously known as the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC).

Our purpose is to improve housing outcomes by helping more Australians to access affordable, safe and secure housing.

About the role

We are seeking a pro-active, highly organised, Executive Assistant who will play a key role in the efficient and smooth operation of the Housing Australia legal function. You will primarily be supporting the Chief Legal Officer and will provide administrative support to the wider team.

Key responsibilities

Provide high quality administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer

Diary and inbox management

Coordination of appointments, meetings and conference room bookings

Expense processing and occasional travel and accommodation arrangements

Management of team legal compliance and CLE records

Support effective records and document management within the legal team and assist with the procurement of external legal support

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including executive assistants to the leadership team and members of the board secretary function

Assist with preparation of reports and presentations, including formatting and word-processing assistance

Skills and experience

Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and manage and respond to stakeholders of all levels

Pro-active and flexible self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude and focus on customer service

Willingness to learn about the wider organisation and its structure, governance, programs and functions

Attention to detail with a pride in best-practice document management and record-keeping

Excellent computer literacy with extensive experience across the MS Office suite (including Sharepoint) – experience with Diligent and DocuSign or similar also desirable

Strong written and verbal communication skills with respect for and strict adherence to confidentiality at all times

Excellent time management with a willingness to work flexibly

4+ years’ experience in an administrative assistant role
