Glimpse of the Job
The Administrative Coordinator I will provide administrative support to specialized activities and projects primarily for the sophomore organic chemistry service course which serves approximately 2,000 students each semester. The selected candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of electronic grade book preparation of course evaluations, assisting with TA evaluations, web information and assignments, and facilitates exam grading.
Opportunities to Contribute:
Provides organizational planning and problem-solving skills to assist the Program Coordinator in day-to-day operations of the sophomore organic program.
Coordinates the training and supervision of office student workers.
Serves as an information resource on administrative operational methods and processes.
Monitors compliance with university policies and procedures.
Corresponds with Disability Services regarding the arrangement of exams for students requiring accommodations.
Responds to phone inquiries and resolves problems in the lecture rooms with Harrington Media.
Provides support to instructors for electronic homework systems (Aktiv).
Responsible for setting up course evaluations for all sophomore level Chemistry courses.
Creates and maintains eCampus websites for all sophomore organic courses.
Uploads Gradescope exams for FYP lectures and labs.
Compiles and returns exam data to instructors.
Compiles semester enrollment data and provides analysis to faculty.
Compiles ARGOS data as needed.
Compiles and analyzes student data/demographics throughout the semester in support of student success initiatives.
Provides support for Gradescope exams for Chemistry instructors in the main chemistry complex not in the sophomore organic program.
Assists with assignment of instructors’ assistants (IA’s) and teaching assistants (TA’s) and the grader pool.
Provides support for outreach programs, coordinating events and maintaining contact information for ongoing and future activities.
Attends meetings, courses, seminars, training sessions, and conferences as needed to maintain certifications or to learn new ways of performing current job duties to increase productivity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in office administration.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Planning and organization skills.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess:
Four years of related experience.
Working knowledge of LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.), TAMUDirect, Qualtrics, Compass, ASTRA, ARGOS, and strong computing /software background.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
