OVERVIEW: The Intake Admin represents Coalition for the Homeless as the first impression of the agency to all visitors and guests. This position monitors access to the building and provides excellent customer service and administrative support to the staff. The position of Receptionist requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment, and adaptability to effectively uphold Coalition values and maintain an environment of dignity, respect, and cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Receptionist must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
Excellent customer service is a must.
Understanding the homeless population is desirable.
Must be proficient in written and verbal communication.
The ability to effectively serve a very diverse population.
Must be willing to work flexible hours based on the agency’s needs.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to learn new programs.
Ability to deal calmly in crisis situations.
Ability to communicate effectively, be compassionate, and always maintain confidentiality.
Must possess organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Provide appropriate assistance and/or information to guests, visitors, volunteers, and donors.
Greet all persons as they enter the building in a professional manner.
Answer phones and route them to the proper individual or take messages when necessary.
Complete reports as requested by Program Manager.
Order supplies as needed.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Enter client information accurately in the Homeless Manager Information System (HMIS) in a timely fashion.
Provide administrative support as needed.
Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the program and other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
