To uphold HR’s mission, “We partner with our customers to achieve shared goals,” this position will oversee the general HR office operational workflow. Work assignments are complex and technically challenging requiring a high degree of discretion, organizational skill, problem solving ability and advanced proficiency using a variety of computer programs. A high level of professionalism in verbal and written communications is essential to this position. Incumbents regularly provide administrative support directly to the HR management team.
Employees in this classification exercise a great deal of judgment and initiative in their day-to-day work and are expected to identify problems and implement solutions to maintain accuracy. This position plays a key part in establishing and maintaining HR office processes, procedures and policies as advised by senior management. Additionally, this assignment requires the incumbent to have the ability to research, collect and analyze data to ensure validity of data entry.
This position is full-time (8am – 5pm), onsite, and might require occasional evenings.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide timely and superior customer service to HR visitors, including internal and external inquiries.
Serve as the HR Public Records Coordinator and HR Budget Coordinator, which includes gathering, tracking, and summarizing information, while utilizing multiple programs at an advanced level including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint etc.
Take lead on general HR Office duties including staff meetings, council memo and ordinance drafts and submission, mail distribution, supply ordering, calendaring, Outlook distribution lists & Team Channels.
Act as City liaison for public-based commission(s) and maintain corresponding public-facing webpages.
Provide logistical support for a variety of departmental events.
Independently lead, coordinate, and plan confidential work and projects as assigned by HR leadership.
Apply broad knowledge of City operations, policies, procedures, services, and various programs to increase the efficiency and effectiveness the department.
Support the employee life cycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee actions, and offboarding.
Act as a resource or backup to other department staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; 2-4 years of college level coursework preferred,
Six years of progressively responsible administrative support experience at the executive level
Office management experience preferred
May require relevant certification or higher education coursework as it pertains to the department/division
Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
