About the Role:
The Administrative Assistant to HR plays a crucial role in supporting the human resources department within the durable goods manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. The successful candidate will manage various administrative tasks, allowing HR professionals to focus on strategic initiatives. By maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication between departments, the Administrative Assistant will contribute to a positive workplace culture. Ultimately, this role is essential for fostering an efficient and effective HR environment that supports the overall goals of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a human resources department.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with HR software and databases, such as Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Knowledge of labor laws and regulations relevant to the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
Maintain employee records and ensure that all documentation is up to date and compliant with company policies.
Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting initial training sessions.
Support HR initiatives by organizing employee engagement activities and maintaining communication with staff regarding HR policies.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
Enter jobs every day to track new jobs for Scheduler.
Order supplies from staples on the parts order list and office supplies.
Work with the Safety Manager to keep track of all spray booth filter inspection log, hazardous waste sheets and keep track of safety bingo.
Keep track of shipping load information BOL and load sheets.
Help with inventory
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong organizational abilities, which are essential for managing multiple tasks and maintaining accurate records. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with employees and addressing their inquiries. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is vital for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations that support HR functions. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with HR software, will enhance the candidate’s ability to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Overall, a combination of these skills will enable the Administrative Assistant to contribute significantly to the HR team’s success and the organization’s overall productivity.
