Job Description
Under the supervision of the Housing Manager, Assistant Housing Manager and NYCHA’s Leased Housing Department (LHD) policies and procedures, the secretary will work with the LHD-Bronx Client Services team to assist with the following:
– Timekeeping- Kronos

Data entry (document processing)
Filing (prepping, purging, shredding, boxing)
Supply ordering and distribution.
General office duties.
Processing responses to inquiries from NYCHA Leased Housing Department Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participants, landlords, public housing agencies, elected officials, advocacy groups.
Special projects.

NOTE: Preference will be given to CIVIL SERVICE BRIDGE EXAM# 3971 takers.

NOTE: IF THIS APPOINTMENT IS MADE ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS PURSUANT TO 65 OF THE NYS CIVIL SERVICE LAW, NO TENURE OR PERMANENCE ACCRUES TO AN INCUMBENT IN THIS POSITION BY VIRTUE OF SUCH APPOINTMENT.

Minimum Qualifications

A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization?

Skills Requirement: You will be required to meet the typing skills requirement by demonstrating the ability to type accurately on a personal computer at a minimum speed of 35 words per minute after errors are deducted. You must meet this requirement in order to be appointed.

Preferred Skills

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills. – Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. – Knowledge of the Siebel System.
