CITY OF AUBURN COMMUNITY CENTER
The Community Center within our Parks & Recreation Department is looking to hire Front Desk Clerk. This is a part-time, non-benefited position that involves front desk reception and office work. Work duties include: frequent interaction with the public in person and on the telephone, and using the automated registration system to schedule, record and process class, athletic and facility registrations. In addition, the employee will be answering questions and informing patrons of activities, classes and amenities available at the Community and Event Center.
Hours of Work:
Primary hours: 4pm-8pm, Mon-Fri; 8:00am-4:00pm Sat
* Work generally involves answering telephones and interacting with the public as the receptionist, photocopying materials; distributing mail; filing a variety of materials according to established department procedures; archiving material and physically moving boxes to appropriate areas; and word processing or typing correspondence, reports and forms.
* Work assignments may involve data entry or cashiering; performing recordkeeping or more advanced bookkeeping functions; using computers for word processing, data entry and spreadsheet assignments.
* Deals tactfully and courteously with the public, co-workers, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer service situations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Receptionist experience, Microsoft Office experience in a Windows environment, and knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems.
