Position Summary
This is an administrative support service position which consist of providing clerical support to the administrative leadership within the office of the dean, assisting faculty, students, clients, and vendors, as well as, greeting all incoming visitors, providing directives, as necessary. The individual in this position must have professional clerical skills, knowledge, and experience in the usage of Microsoft Suites such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and other office equipment. This individual will also be required to compose letters, memos, complete forms, and reports, and on occasion, take minutes at meetings. This individual will handle confidential materials and must possess the abilities to keep these matters strictly confidential. Other responsibilities include processing and data inputting invoices into the universities Banner, SUExpress and other financial processing systems. Running department errands, arrange and schedule all events and other duties as required for the functionality of the department.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The primary function of the organizational unit is to provide support services to to the Dean, Associate Dean, faculty, staff, students, and university in general. Uphold the integrity of the university, and implement the policies and procedures. The dean’s office is the administrative and financial hub of the College; supporting all education units, programs and organizations.

High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
A minimum of three years of clerical or office administrative experience in a university environment; an associate degree with a minimum of two years of secretarial experience in a university environment; or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of clerical experience in a university environment. Preference will be given to candidates with background and experience in computer/Instructional technologies, advanced Microsoft Office 365 suite of products including proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
