South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state’s public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities, while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face-to-face and online settings.

Job Purpose:
Under limited supervision plans and directs the routine administrative activities of the Engineering and IT departments including preparing and maintaining records required by FCC, FAA, and ETV Inventory System

Job Duties:

Responsible for planning and organizing the routine administrative activities of the Engineering, & IT Departments which includes: screening calls; managing calendars; making travel arrangements for Engineering & IT personnel; making meeting and conference arrangements; controlling incoming and outgoing documents, maintaining files; maintaining office inventory. Enter and monitor shopping carts for the Departments. Forward purchase orders to vendors. Utilize Excel to track and monitor budgets for projects and departments.

Regularly review records required by the FCC, State SC Department of Administration, Public Files, etc. Update FCC Rules & Regulations for Engineering Department. Maintain FCC Public Inspection File online and paper file.

Prepares all non-technical reports for Engineering & IT such as FCC Ownership, Annual Employment, etc. Communicate and work with outside counsel and other staff to complete required reports.

Report and follow-up on problems to Maintenance, Master Control, and IT. Provide liaison between engineering personnel, supervisors, various other ETV Staff and the public as necessary.

Provide customer service by answering trouble calls from viewers/listeners and forward calls requiring follow-up to appropriate staff and keep records of correspondence.

Other duties as assigned by Chief Technology Officer.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree and 5 years of experience in clerical/office management setting or bachelor’s degree and two years of experience or any combination of the above
